Day-2 Day out in Angkor Wat | Explore the largest religious monument in the world
Post breakfast, board your transfer to the South gate of Angkor Thom to begin your sightseeing for the day.
Start off by visiting the most popular 12th-century Bayon Temple which is also known as the face temple for its huge faces carved over the outer walls.
Further visit the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanaka, Elephant, and Leper King Terrace which once were used on various occasions of the royal empire.
Visit Ta Prohm (also known as the jungle temple) which is cloaked in the slow muscular embrace of vast root systems.
After lunch, visit to Thommanan, Chaosay Tevoda, and Ta Keo: a small, attractive temple in very good condition – all built during the same era as Angkor Wat.
Next, visit the most magnificent creation of the Khmer dynasty – Angkor Wat which features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Take a walk through the outer gallery to marvel at the sculptures on the walls that narrate stories from Hindu mythology.
Climb up a steep path and a few steps to reach on top of Bakheng Hill to get a perfect sunset view.
The hill also houses the first major temple constructed in the Angkor region – the Bakheng temple.
This mountain temple offers extraordinary views of the Tonle Sap and Angkor Wat backed with the shades of sunset.
After enjoying the sunset views, return back to the hotel for dinner.
