Lets get the facts correct. The temples are not full of just erotic sculpture everywhere. There were only 10% of erotic sculpture out of all others. What makes it great is the magnificent skills and imagination of the then architects of 800 Centuries.The temples of Khajuraho are divided into three geographical groups: Western, Eastern and Southern. The main temples were Western temple of groups which are part of “World Heritage Group”. Best known temples are The Kandariya Mahadev and Laxman temple where erotic sculptures are clearly visible.

South and eastern group also has some temples which are worth for a single visit.

Not-to-miss “Light and Sound” show in the grounds of Western group of temples in the voice of legend Amitabh Bachhan make the western temple of group so special. Overall, 1 Day is sufficient for the temple visits, if you are a casual visitor and not doing any research stuff. I would strongly recommend Audio guide for the visit. This is more than worth. It costs only Rs. 60 for Indians and It gives whole details about temples. Without this you may not get the real knowledge about temples and other sculptures. Avoid Half knowledge Local Guides.

Day-2
As July is monsoon season, Panna national park is closed. the best option for excursion tour is Raneh Falls which is Mini-Grand-Canyon. This is around 20KM from Khajuraho. The place is worth a visit.

For Family visitors, 1 Night 2 days are more than enough in monsoon season considering safari’s are closed.For other season 1 more night can be considered. Otherwise, there are not much things to do in Khajuraho rather than visiting western group of temples twice which we did.
